Disallowed Content & Actions

The term "content" includes profiles, diaries, and time capsules created by Atrable users.

Scam

Prohibited

• Fake Accounts: Creating fake profiles with the intent to deceive, mislead, or defraud others.

Impersonation, fraud, defamation, and harassment can lead into civil and criminal charges.

• Malicious Links: Sharing links to malicious websites, including those that contain malware, spyware, or other harmful software.
• Unauthorized Use of Personal Information: Sharing or using someone else's personal information (such as name, image, contact details, or financial information) without their explicit consent.

Allowed

• Parody and Satire: Creating content that is clearly marked as parody or satire, provided it does not violate other community guidelines and is not intended to deceive or harm individuals.

Spam

Prohibited

• Ads without a real person's real voice

Allowed

• Ads with a real person's real voice
• Individuals sharing what they made and talking about it
• Advertisement through social links in profile pages

Copyright Infringement

Note: The final determination of copyright infringement lies with the courts.

Prohibited

• Unauthorized Use of Content: Uploading, sharing, or distributing content that you do not own or have explicit permission to use.
• Plagiarism: Presenting someone else's work or ideas as your own without proper attribution or permission.

Allowed

• Fair Use: Using copyrighted material under the principles of fair use, which may include commentary, criticism, news reporting, education, research, or parody.

Sexual Content & Nudity

Prohibited

• Explicit Nudity: Profiles or content that include explicit depictions of genitals or sexual acts.
• Pornography: Profiles or content that are sexually explicit and intended to arouse.
• Overly Sexual Language: Profiles or content that contain graphic descriptions of sexual acts or explicit sexual language: excessively suggestive or intended to arouse.

Allowed

• Mildly Suggestive Content: Profiles or content that are mildly suggestive or playful in nature, such as using a username like "sexy_john," are permitted as long as they do not cross into explicit or pornographic territory.
• Discussions on Sexuality: Open and respectful discussions about sexual topics from a societal, educational, or personal perspective are allowed. This includes conversations about sexual health, societal attitudes towards sex, and personal experiences, as long as they are conducted in a non-explicit manner.
• Non-Explicit Nudity: Content that includes non-explicit nudity for educational, documentary, scientific, or artistic purposes is allowed. Examples include:

Breastfeeding

Medical and health-related illustrations

Art that is not gratuitous or intended to arouse

Hate Speech

We do not allow hate speech among our users. Hate speech is defined as an offensive message targeting a group or an individual based on inherent characteristics (eg. race, religion, or gender).

Prohibited

• Use of Derogatory Language: Using slurs, insults, or any offensive language aimed at demeaning or belittling someone based on inherent attributes.
• Promotion of Violence: Advocating or glorifying violence against individuals or groups.
• Harassment and Bullying: Engaging in targeted harassment, threats, or bullying of individuals or groups.

Allowed

• Constructive Criticism: Criticizing the actions of individuals or groups in a manner that does not involve hate speech or personal attacks.
• Debate and Disagreement: Engaging in healthy debates and expressing differing viewpoints, as long as the conversations are conducted respectfully and do not involve hate speech or personal attacks.
• Educational Content: Sharing educational content that seeks to inform and raise awareness about various social, political, and cultural issues without promoting hate or discrimination.
• Expressing Hate Against Unforgivable Crimes: Expressing strong disapproval or hate towards individuals who have committed heinous or anti-humanity crimes, such as historical figures like Hitler or criminals convicted of serious offenses like murder, serious sexual assaults, or kidnapping, is allowed. This should be done in a way that focuses on the actions and crimes of these individuals, rather than targeting entire groups or communities.

Restricted Accounts

People with restricted accounts are allowed to communicate only with friends. They cannot send friend requests or share content publicly.

Accounts can be temporarily restricted as a consequence of not following our community guidelines.

Accounts are permanently restricted for individuals who have been convicted of a serious crime (eg. first-degree murder, serious sexual offense, kidnapping, etc).

Reporting

Our system will review the reported content and follow you back through email soon after.

Enforcement

If our system finds the content inappropriate,

• The content will be removed
• The account may be restricted or disabled based on the number of previous warnings it has accumulated in the past 6 months.
• 1st warning: Account restricted for a day
• 2nd warning: Account restricted for 3 days
• 3rd warning: Account restricted for a week
• 4th warning: Account restricted for 2 weeks
• 5th+ warning: Account restricted for a month

Fake accounts may be permanently suspended without warning.

Appealing

If you believe our system has made an incorrect decision regarding your case, please submit the appeal form available through the link provided in the email.

If your account was restricted or suspended while it was hacked, explain the situation in the appeal form, and we will lift the restriction or suspension.
